The Admiral is a well known restaurant at the heart of Ste Maxime just beside where the Bateaux Verts sail to St Tropez. It is known for being expensive but the trick is to have lunch there. The views are fabulous and they do a 2 course lunch for around €16 which is great value.. as well as a main course and dessert you get Tapenade and fresh bread. The only thing to watch out for is that a bottle of fizzy water will cost you €9. If you ask for a "carafe d'eau" instead that is free of course. The cheapest bottle of wine is well over €20 but a "Picher" (.5L) is a more reasonable €12.50. the staff are extremely professional and very friendly. These are all 2016 Prices.
The food is excellent and the setting is "priceless" as a well known credit card company might say!. The pictures below show what I mean. This is in mid April not the middle of summer. and you could spot the Sun starved visitors like me who would chose to sit in the sun whereas the locals would dine in the shade. (a l'ombre)
Tip: The restaurant has it's weekly menu posted at the entrance so you can pick the day you visit to coincide with something you really like on the menu.
